#1 Demolition
When discussing tag teams that should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, one of the first names always mentioned is Demoltion.
Seen by some as WWE's attempt to create their own version of the NWA's Road Warriors, Demolition became something so much more than "LOD lite" during their WWE career.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Demolition's trademark look of facepaint, black leather attire and a catchy entrance theme made them a cult hit despite being portrayed as vicious heels during the late 1980s and early 1990s in WWE.
Ax and Smash held the WWE World Tag Team Championships on three separate occasions during their run with WWE. In fact, one run was historic for being the longest WWE World Tag Team Championship reign of all time, a record that lasted for over 25 years until The New Day broke it in 2016.
Will Demolition ever be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?
Despite only being a tag team for five years in WWE, Demolition is still being talked about today as an influential tag team that may promotions, wrestlers and new teams look to replicate.
In a time when WWE was catering more to the children in their audience, Ax and Smash represented something that was "cool" to the older members of the crowd and viewers at home, an aspect that still resonates to professional wrestling fans today.
Given the influence and historic World Tag Team Championship reign that Demolition had during their WWE career, one would assume they would be a formality for the Hall of Fame.
However, as time goes on, the absence of Demolition from any WWE Hall of Fame class becomes more and more obvious. It has been speculated that the reason Demolition has not been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame is because of Ax and Smash's participation in a lawsuit filed against WWE for issues related to concussions sustained during their careers.
Despite these hurdles, many fans of WWE from the late 80s and tag team fanatics hope to see Ax and Smash walk their way into the WWE Hall of Fame one day.
