New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#3. The first Hell in a Cell match took place at WWE Bad Blood (1997)
The first time professional wrestling fans witnessed the Hell in a Cell structure was on 5 October 1997 at Bad Blood. The first two superstars who competed in this vicious structure were Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. This match between the two is still regarded as one of the best HIAC matches by many.
The bout was won by Shawn Michaels, and fans were treated to the debut of Kane who interfered in this match. At Bad Blood 2024, fans will be witnessing the fourth Hell in a Cell match in the PLEs history.
#2. CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre is the 53rd Hell in a Cell match
WWE has held many Hell in a Cell matches since the structure was first introduced in 1997. At Bad Blood, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will be competing in the 53rd Hell in a Cell match of the Stamford-based promotion. However, in terms of experience in HIAC matches, Punk is the superior.
Until now, The Best in the World has competed in five Hell in a Cell matches and has won two and lost three times. This means Punk has a 40% win percentage at the PLE in Atlanta, Georgia. McIntyre, on the other hand, has competed inside the Devil's Playground on two occasions, but he could never win.
#1. The longest Hell in a Cell match took place in 2004
While the Hell in a Cell match is always long and brutal, the longest HIAC match took place at Bad Blood 2004 when Triple H and Shawn Michaels faced each other in the brutalizing structure. This bout between the two superstars lasted over 47 minutes, 47:26 to be precise.
At WWE Bad Blood, it will be interesting to see if Punk and McIntyre are able to break this record. Due to the history and rivalry between the two, it won't be surprising to see them take their time in inflicting pain on one another, which could lead to them breaking Triple H and Shawn Michaels' records.
