What’s the story?
2018 WWE Hall of Fame nominee Ivory recently spoke with WWE veteran and Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin in the Steve Austin Show. During her interview with Austin, Ivory discussed a host of topics including the initial start to her WWE career and her issues with fellow Hall of Famer Jacqueline Moore.
In case you didn’t know…
Ivory made her debut for WWE in 1999 during the company’s Attitude Era period. During her time with the WWE, Ivory won the WWF Women’s Championship on three different occasions and gradually became one of the top female stars of the WWE at the time.

The heart of the matter
While speaking with Austin, Ivory revealed that it was Jim Cornette who initially helped her in kick-starting a career in the WWE, after she got a phone call from Cornette.
Ivory stated that she first got booked in the WWE as part of a one-shot deal and apparently agreed to do the show only if she was provided to attend her day job as a Revlon cosmetics instructor.
Additionally, she also opened up about her issues with Jacqueline Moore as she claimed that Moore gave her a very harsh welcome to the WWE and claimed that she kind of used her as a “punching bag” for the first nine months into Ivory’s WWE career.
"I started to feel like, 'man, I don't even like this anymore. It hurts too much!' And people started nudging me and the guys would say, 'you've got to put your foot down!' And I put my foot down by saying, 'that's not what wrestling is.' Nobody wants to pay to see a real chick fight because it's ugly and it doesn't sell."- Ivory stated.
What’s next?
Ivory will be inducted into this year’s class of WWE Hall of Fame along with the likes of Bill Goldberg, Jeff Jarrett, and The Dudley Boyz on the 6th of April, at the Smoothie King Center, in New Orleans.
Author’s Take
In my opinion, Ivory was one of the best, as well as, one of the most underrated in-ring competitors of all time and the former WWE Women’s Champion did play a huge role in transitioning the women’s division back in the day and pave the way for today’s generation of female stars in the wrestling industry.
