CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre lived up to the hype at WWE Bad Blood. They fulfilled their promise to make each other bleed and brought back the brutality missing in the Hell in a Cell match type over the years. Whether the bout worked for a viewer depends on their preference for violent content, but a ubiquitous sentiment has been that the contest is a Match of the Year contender.

In the end, it was The Best in the World who survived. At first, it seemed he would be stretchered out of the arena, but he decided to walk. After the exhausting showdown with his arch-rival, The Scottish Warrior, the former WWE Champion needed a friend.

On Instagram, Punk shared a before/after photo with former Women's Champion Bayley, who also performed at Bad Blood.

"Bad Blood before and after. I needed a hug," CM Punk captioned his Instagram post.

Bayley unsuccessfully challenged Women's Champion Nia Jax at the event. The bigger story there, though, was the teased dissension between The Irresistible Force and Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton. The Buff Barbie ultimately opted not to cash in her contract at Bad Blood.

What's next for CM Punk and Bayley?

CM Punk disclosed his intentions to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Gunther after defeating Drew McIntyre in a Strap Match at WWE Bash in Berlin. But he had to first settle the score with The Scottish Warrior. Now that McIntyre is seemingly in the rearview mirror, The Straight Edge Superstar can finally contend for the top prize of Monday Night RAW.

As for the Women's Title picture on SmackDown, one can safely say that Bayley will not be a contender for the foreseeable future after failing to capture the belt on Saturday. Hence, she could now work in the tag team division alongside long-time ally Naomi.

Tiffany Stratton teased going after Women's World Champion Liv Morgan at Bad Blood, but that did not happen. Unfortunately for Morgan, who retained her title against Rhea Ripley, Stratton also did not rule out tonight's episode of Monday Night RAW. The show is set to emanate from Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
