TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace sustained an injury in her match against Roxanne Perez at the 2024 NXT Battleground Premium Live Event. She recently recalled being hurt in the contest.
At Battleground, Grace faced Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship. Ash By Elegance (fka Dana Brooke) and Tatum Paxley interfered in the contest, enabling Perez to hit the TNA Wrestling star with the Pop Rox for the win.
In an interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, Roxanne Grace spoke about her bout against Perez. She added that her ear piercing got ripped off during the contest.
"It was bad. It was ripped all the way through. I'm really sad about it. They were like, 'You're bleeding. Are you okay?' 'I'm f***ing fine'. I was mad. I was mad and upset that it happened again. I wasn't hurt or trying to stop the match, I was just p***ed off. I didn't even know there were considerations to stop the match. I would have been livid."
Grace added that she learned about the severity of her injury after she returned to the backstage area.
"I didn't know how bad it was until I got to the back. They were like, 'Dang, it's all the way through'. I looked in [sic] the camera and was like, 'Man, that s**ks'. I saw it was on her stocking. It makes me want to ban fishnets. I don't feel like I should have to stop wearing earrings. I feel like we should ban fishnets. #BanFishnets." (H/T: Cultholic)
Bayley expressed her desire to attend Jordynne Grace's recent WWE match
TNA star Jordynne Grace first wrestled in WWE at Royal Rumble 2024. She delivered a stellar performance in the multi-woman contest. The Knockouts World Champion also competed in two one-on-one matches in NXT.
During a conversation with Cultaholic, Bayley expressed how excited she was about Jordynne Grace's involvement with WWE. The Role Model added that she immediately reached out to Triple H and Shawn Michaels, asking them whether she could attend the show where Grace was performing.
"It really didn’t hit me that it was possible until I saw Jordynne Grace come out on NXT. And immediately, text Hunter [Triple H], text Shawn, and I wanted to be at the show. I’m like, 'You know what, I would love to be in the front row for this. It’s a historic match.' And just to kind of get my face out there, like, 'Hey, I’m watching. I’m the champion. Can you consider me if we ever do these, you know, something with TNA?' I would love to do that just because it’s different."
It will be exciting to see whether WWE will collaborate with TNA for more shows in the future.
