Tiffany Stratton's successful Money in the Bank cash-in marked the first major event like that on SmackDown in several years. We have to go back nearly seven years.

This week, on the first episode of SmackDown in 2025, we saw the blue brand go three hours. While that was met with a mixed reception, WWE utilized every minute possible. Right as hour three was running, the big moment happened—Tiffany Stratton cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Nia Jax to become WWE Women's Champion.

Tiffany Stratton's cash-in marked the first time since April 2018 that a Money in the Bank cash-in happened on SmackDown. The last person to do it was Corey Graves' wife Carmella, and he pointed out as much. It's incredible to think that it took nearly seven years for a cash-in to happen on SmackDown.

If you're wondering why, the answer is mainly that the Women's MITB cash-ins have happened in various stages. For superstars like Alexa Bliss, Bayley, and Liv Morgan, the cash-ins happened the same night on Money in the Bank in 2018, 2019, and 2022, respectively.

As for the others, Asuka's "cash-in" happened on RAW in 2020, Nikki A.S.H. cashed in on Charlotte Flair on RAW in 2021, and IYOK SKY cashed in at SummerSlam 2023.

There hasn't been a male cash-in on SmackDown in several years.
