WWE veteran Steve Blackman resurfaced online in a new video today and looked almost unrecognizable. The veteran has not competed in a match since the 15th Anniversary Battle Royal on the December 10, 2007, episode of WWE RAW.
The YouTube channel WWE Vault posted a video featuring Steve Blackman today. Blackman introduced his legendary bout against Shane McMahon at SummerSlam 2000. The legend appeared to still be in phenomenal shape at 61 years old and noted that the crowd was very into his match against Shane O'Mac back in the day.
"Obviously, going up the titantron, I don't think the people were sure or unsure of what was going on at that point. But when I knocked Shane (McMahon) off, and he dropped that whole distance, and I came down and dropped an elbow on him, just a great pop. When you got the people like that, they are popping, dying to see that happen, it's a great day. Hope you guys enjoy the match," said Blackman. [From 00:27 - 00:47]

Vince Russo comments on Steve Blackman's run in WWE
Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently discussed Steve Blackman's time in the promotion and noted that he could reach Ken Shamrock's level of charisma.
Blackman captured the Hardcore Championship six times during his tenure with the promotion. Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws show with Dr. Chris Featherstone and EC3, Russo discussed what the issue was during Blackman's time in the company. The veteran praised The Lethal Weapon's work but noted that he was too similar to Ken Shamrock and didn't have enough personality to stand out.
"Personality. That was the problem. You gotta understand, he was there the same time as Shamrock, so they pretty much had the same gimmick, but because Shamrock was so good on the mic, that kinda left Blackman behind a little bit. That really was the issue." [From 4:21 – 4:45]

Steve Blackman is still remembered by many wrestling fans to this day. It will be interesting to see if Blackman gets the opportunity to make another appearance on WWE television sometime down the line.
