Regarding WWE Money In The Bank briefcase match, it is said that WWE initially thought of Roman Reigns or Dolph Ziggler as the winners of Money In the Bank briefcase a few weeks back. However, the decided to go ahead with Sheamus instead. The Celtic Warrior’s win hasn’t been deemed as a bad creative decision as it was unexpected and he can be seen as a credible threat for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
It was reported earlier that Triple H has pushed for a Reigns heel turn but Vince McMahon wasn’t fond of the idea. The heel turn talks for Reigns have something to do with why he did not win the briefcase. While in his current feud with Bray Wyatt, it is still possible that Reigns ends up turning heel.
In the end, it was Triple H who pushed Sheamus to go over even though Reigns and Ziggler were the options discussed to win the briefcase.
Regarding the post-MITB booking of Sheamus, his loss the next night to Dean Ambrose on RAW was seen as a sign that the company still isn’t sure on where they are going with him.
