After twenty years, WWE Bad Blood will return as a premium live event next Saturday. Five matches have been announced for the show so far, with Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes vs. The Bloodline reportedly slated to be the main event.
The upcoming episodes of WWE RAW and SmackDown are also stacked with some great matches. Triple H will likely have some surprises up his sleeve in the final week before Bad Blood.
Here are five potential twists that could take place in the coming week.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#5 AJ Styles announces he is leaving WWE
AJ Styles was written off television after he lost an "I Quit" Match to Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle in June 2024. He was part of WWE's Japan tour and also went to the country for a match against Naomichi Marufuji at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Destination 2024 event.
The Phenomenal One will finally return to SmackDown next Friday. It will be interesting to see what is next for him on an already-loaded brand.
One possibility is Styles only showing up to announce that he is leaving the Stamford-based promotion after being embarrassed by Rhodes. This could lead to him having a short stint in TNA Wrestling before he returns for a last run in WWE.
#4 Tiffany Stratton betrays Nia Jax
Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax have arguably become the strongest duo in the SmackDown women's division. However, their implosion is inevitable due to a likely dispute over the WWE Women's Championship.
The Buff Barbie has her sights set on the title, and there is a good possibility that she will cash in her Money in the Bank contract on Nia Jax. It could happen during or after The Irresistible Force's title defense against Bayley at Bad Blood next Saturday.
The WWE Women's Champion was upset with her partner on SmackDown this past Friday and grabbed her by the throat following their loss to Bayley and Naomi in a tag team match last week. Hence, Stratton might finally decide to part ways with Jax and become champion in the coming week.
#3 Seth Rollins returns on WWE RAW
Seth Rollins last appeared on RAW on August 5, where he was forced out of action by "Big" Bronson Reed, who took him out with several Tsunamis.
The Australian star will take on Braun Strowman in a Last Monster Standing Match on the RAW before WWE Bad Blood on Monday. Since the match will be fought under no disqualification rules, it is possible that Seth Rollins returns and takes out Reed to help The Monster Among Men win.
This could set up a match between Rollins and Reed on the RAW after Bad Blood or possibly at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
#2 Xavier Woods brutalizes Kofi Kingston
The New Day has been one of the top tag teams in WWE for the past ten years. But they have not been the same since Big E got injured in 2022. The Stamford-based promotion has been hinting at a fallout between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Karrion Kross of The Final Testament tried to recruit Woods into his group. While Kross failed, he seemingly exposed the cracks in The New Day.
Xavier Woods was frustrated about The New Day's loss to American Made on RAW last Monday and later challenged Rey Mysterio to a match for the upcoming episode. It is possible that Kofi Kingston unintentionally costs Woods the bout, causing more tension between the duo.
This could lead to Woods finally turning on Kingston after the latter's match with Chad Gable on RAW this Monday.
#1 Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes win gold together
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will reportedly battle Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in the main event of Bad Blood. A night before that, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa will defend their WWE Tag Team Championship against The Street Profits and DIY in a Ladder match.
There is a possibility that The Bloodline injures one of the teams on SmackDown next Friday, leading to Nick Aldis allowing Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes to compete for the gold in the match.
The Original Tribal Chief and The American Nightmare could win the title and defend them against Sikoa and Fatu at Bad Blood to add stakes to their encounter.
