About WWE Royal Rumble 2025
Royal Rumble is an annual pay-per-view event organized by WWE. It marks the beginning of the road to WrestleMania as the winners of the Royal Rumble matches get the opportunity to fight for a World Championship at the grandest stage of sports entertainment. The next Royal Rumble event is the 38th in history and will take place on February 1, 2025, live from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Royal Rumble 2025 Matchcard
The Men's and Women's Royal Rumble matches are to be the two highlights of the night. Furthermore, it is announced that John Cena will indeed wrestle at the event to begin his retirement tour. Cena will compete in the 30-Man Battle Royal.

Men's Royal Rumble Match
30 Men will compete in the 2025 Royal Rumble Match. As of 28th January 2025, LA Knight, John Cena, CM Punk, Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, Logan Paul, Penta, Chad Gable, Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes have announced their entry.
Women's Royal Rumble Match
As of 28th January 2025, Nia Jax, Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Lyra Valkyria, Ivy Nile, and Iyo Sky have announced for Women's Royal Rumble match.
Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs Kevin Owens ( Ladder match)
At Bad Blood, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns defeated The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, but after the event, Kevin Owens attacked Rhodes, accusing him of betrayal for teaming with Reigns. This marked Owens's heel turn and set the stage for their rivalry. At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Rhodes defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Owens using the Winged Eagle belt for the event’s retro theme.
Despite Owens attempting to use a chair, Rhodes retained the title after a Cross Rhodes. After the match, Owens attacked Rhodes and stole the Winged Eagle belt, calling himself the "true champion". On SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis demanded Owens return the belt, but Owens refused without a rematch. Rhodes proposed a Ladder match at the Royal Rumble, with both the Undisputed and Winged Eagle titles suspended above the ring. Aldis agreed, making the match official.
Two out of three falls match for the WWE Tag Team Title: DIY (c) vs. Motor City Machine Guns
After losing the WWE Tag Team Titles, #DIY promised to win them back, however, Ciampa's aggressive behavior made it seem like they were splitting up. Ciampa went after The Street Profits and Motor City Machine Guns during a match however it was all a trick. #DIY later defeated Motor City Machine Guns to reclaim the titles after Gargano used a low blow, turning the two men heels. After a chaotic rematch finished in a no contest because of outside obstruction, Motor City Machine Guns earned one more shot and challenged #DIY to a two-out-of-three fall match at the Royal Rumble 2025.

Where to watch Royal Rumble 2025?
For the fans of WWE in the USA, Royal Rumble, like any other WWE PPV, will not be available on the WWE Network as the service has stopped in the country since 2021. Fans can tune in to Peacock TV to stream the superstars. Elsewhere, Royal Rumble has been streaming on PPV and WWE Network since 2014 and will continue to do so. However, WWE Network and Netflix are set to be merged in the coming months and hence fans can watch the Royal Rumble 2024 via Netflix in most countries. It will air on Binge in Australia. Indian fans can stream the event on Sony Sports Network or the SonyLIV app.
WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Date and Time
WWE Royal Rumble 2025 will take place on February 1, 2025. This is the first-ever Royal Rumble event to take place in February, coinciding with the postponement of WrestleMania from early April to mid-April in 2025. It is also the first-ever Royal Rumble to be streamed on Netflix. The show is reported to begin at 7 PM ET. The possible start timings of the show in various timezones are as follows:

- India: 4:30 A.M. IST (Sunday, February 2)
- Australia: 10 A.M. AEDT (Sunday, February 2)

Where to buy Royal Rumble 2025 Tickets?
The tickets for the Royal Rumble are currently not on sale. The pre-sale of the tickets will go live on November 13, 2024, on Ticketmaster at 10 AM ET/7 AM PT. The tickets will go live on Friday, November 15, 2024. The stadium can hold around 65,000 spectators. However, given the demand for the show, fans will have to act quickly to get their hands on the tickets.
WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Stadium
Royal Rumble 2025 will take place live from the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is a multi-purpose stadium and is the home of the NFL side Indianapolis Colts. With a capacity of around 65,000 spectators, the event is also reported to host WrestleMania and SummerSlam sometime in the future.
Which Title can the Royal Rumble winner challenge for?
The highlight of the night is always the eponymous Royal Rumble match. The winner of the Royal Rumble match has traditionally been awarded a match against the world champion at WrestleMania, which is usually the main event of The Grandest Stage of Them All. For WrestleMania XL, the winner of the Men's Royal Rumble Match can go for either the World Heavyweight Championship or the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. For the Women's Royal Rumble Winner, the choice remains between the WWE Women's Championship and the Women's World Championship.
For the 2020 and 2021 Royal Rumble, the NXT Championship was also an option for the winner and the same was exercised by Charlotte Flair who challenged then-NXT Women's Champion Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 36. However, the option seems to have been scrapped now. In 2022, The Money in the Bank winner Austin Theory cashed in his briefcase on the United States Champion Seth 'Freakin' Rollins. Thus, it is also possible that the Royal Rumble winner can also use his opportunity on a title other than the world title. However, the probability of that happening is almost zero.

Men's Royal Rumble Match
The headliner of the Royal Rumble was the Men's Royal Rumble match, which started with Rey Mysterio and Penta. Akira Tozawa was attacked and was replaced by IShowSpeed, who Bron Breakker immediately eliminated. Surprise participants included TNA Title holder Joe Hendry and Roman Reigns, who were dominated by eliminating several contenders. CM Punk, John Cena, and Seth Rollins had a tense three-way standoff before Punk eliminated the two Reigns and Rollins. The last four were Punk, Cena, Logan Paul, and Jey Uso, with Paul eliminating Punk before Cena and Uso battled on the apron. Uso eventually won by countering Cena's Attitude Adjustment and knocking him off the apron, getting a world championship at WrestleMania. The men's Royal Rumble match, lasting one hour and 20 minutes, holds the record as the longest Royal Rumble match ever as of February 2025.
Women's Royal Rumble Match
Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan began the Women's Royal Rumble match. It highlighted a few NXT stars, including Roxanne Perez, who set the record for the longest time in a Women's Rumble at 1:07:47. The match additionally saw surprise returns from Alexa Bliss, Trish Stratus, Charlotte Flair, and Nikki Bella, while Nia Jax dominated with nine eliminations. The last four were Flair, Bella, Perez, and Jax, with Jax eliminating Bella before Flair took out both Jax and Perez to win. With this triumph, Flair became the first woman to win two Royal Rumble matches, earning a world title match at WrestleMania.
Ladder match for the Undisputed WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed WWE Title against Kevin Owens in a ruthless Ladder match. Owens attempted a Package Piledriver, but Rhodes countered and sent him onto a ladder. Later, Rhodes drove Owens through a bridged ladder with an Alabama Bang before scaling to retrieve the titles and retain his championship.
Two out of three falls match for the WWE Tag Team Title
#DIY defended the WWE Tag Team Title against The Motor City Machine Guns in a Two out of Three Falls match. Ciampa secured the first fall by pinning Shelley after a running knee strike, but Shelley pinned Gargano with Skull and Bones to even the score. As The Motor City Machine Guns attempted another Skull and Bones, two hooded figures (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) caused an interruption, permitting #DIY to hit Meet in the Middle, with Ciampa pinning Shelley to retain the titles.
