Sami Zayn, born Rami Sebei, is a Canadian professional wrestler competing on WWE's RAW brand as of February 2025. Before joining WWE in 2013, he wrestled under the ring name El Generico in promotions such as Ring of Honor, International Wrestling Syndicate, and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. In PWG, he became the only wrestler to win the Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team Title and the Battle of Los Angeles tournament, the promotion's annual tournaments, in consecutive years (2010 and 2011).
After entering WWE, Zayn clinched the NXT Title in December 2014 and was named NXT Superstar of the Year. Since his main roster debut, the "Underdog From The Underground" has secured the Intercontinental Title four times, alongside the WWE Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Zayn is married to his long-term girlfriend Khadijah Farhat Sebei, who is a writer, editor, and producer. Khadijah Sebei studied film production at Concordia University and built a career as an essayist, editor, and producer. Her notable works include Off Kilter, The Burden of Knowledge, and Drama, a documentary on professional wrestling. She is additionally an activist, working with the Montreal-based group Solidarity Across Borders, advocating for migrant and refugee rights. The couple got married in August 2018 and have a child together.
