WWE Bad Blood is on the horizon, and Triple H has been pulling out all stops to deliver a star-studded extravaganza. With the latest edition of RAW being the go-home edition of the show before the spectacle, it ignited the final spark in the heated feuds and storylines. However, it also raised quite a few eyebrows after a simmering rivalry seemingly failed to make it to the PLE.

Triple H may have scrapped a major title match from the card for Bad Blood. The match in question is Sami Zayn vs. Gunther. After months of heated confrontations and verbal tirades, The Ring General finally accepted Zayn's challenge this week on RAW. Just when it looked like this highly anticipated match would take place at the upcoming PLE, WWE took a steep turn.

This match has been made official for the upcoming edition of RAW. It appears as if WWE has revoked the plans for this high-profile match from the October 5 spectacle. Here are three potential reasons why.

Sami Zayn vs Gunther was reported to happen at Bad Blood

The storyline between Sami Zayn and Gunther began right after Bash in Berlin 2024. However, there was a huge question mark on whether this match would take place at Bad Blood because The Ring General was refusing to give the Canadian star a shot at his coveted title.

Regardless of the uncertainty, Dave Meltzer reported that Zayn vs. Gunther is slated for the upcoming spectacle. As per the veteran journalist, this match was in the plans to feature on the October 5 spectacle in Atlanta, Georgia. Hence, it was expected to be made official by the go-home edition of RAW before the PLE.

However, the fact that WWE did not add this match to the card for Bad Blood despite the reports seems to be a major indication that Triple H may have subtly revoked the original plans.

WWE is going with the '5-Match PLE' format

Other than the "Big Four" Premium Live Events, all the other PLEs have been kept limited to five matches lately with a more streamlined approach. This has been the long-standing tradition of the Triple H-led creative. Hence, WWE seems to be going with the same format once again for the upcoming spectacle.

Five matches have already been made official for Bad Blood, leaving no space for another one. Hence, The Game may have subtly scrapped the Gunther vs. Sami Zayn match from the card, as this highly anticipated bout is scheduled to take place on the upcoming edition of RAW after the spectacle.

Therefore, WWE will keep the card limited to five matches following the '5-Match PLE' format, which has been the hallmark of Triple H's creative regime.

WWE may be saving this match for Crown Jewel

One of the potential major reasons Triple H may have scrapped this match from Bad Blood is to stretch this rivalry to Crown Jewel. Gunther vs. Sami Zayn is a match that deserves a spot at a major Premium Live Event. However, with the upcoming spectacle already stacked up with heated feuds and grueling rivalries, it could have lacked the spotlight it deserved.

The November 2 spectacle in Saudi Arabia seems to be the perfect stage to host this high-profile World Heavyweight Championship match. Even though this match is advertised for next week's edition of Monday Night RAW, WWE could stretch this feud to Crown Jewel, where the heated rivalry between the two arch-nemeses would culminate.

This could be the main reason Triple H may have scrapped the plans for the Sami Zayn vs. Gunther match from Bad Blood. Whether WWE revoked the original plans or it was never in the creative plans to begin with, is unclear and unknown.
