WWE’s newest PPV, Battleground will make its debut in a few weeks time at the First Niagara Centre, Buffalo, NY. Things look tough for the WWE as it has to get back to the trend of delivering great PPVs this year.
Like most other new PPVs that WWE introduces, Battleground doesn’t have anything special to make it interesting. Even the match card is turning out to be rematches of the flop show that was Night of Champions which is indicative of the PPV’s looming failure.
Let’s hope WWE makes some timely changes and adds necessary stipulations to the card to make the PPV a watchable affair.
However, a PPV’s success isn’t all dependent on the company’s promotion and storylines. A large amount of responsibilities lie in the hands of the wrestlers who fight in these matches. Only when these wrestlers bring out their best will the PPV become entertaining.

Here are a few wrestlers who we can expect to deliver at Battleground:
1. The Rhodes Brothers
After their uninvited attack on the Shield, Triple H has invited the the Rhodes brothers to have a talk on RAW next week. Triple H has mentioned to make an offer they can’t refuse.
So this clearly means that the Rhodes brothers will have a role in Battleground and most likely a match. Now if that happens the opponents will most likely be the Shield who will have a tough task fighting this pair off. Irrespective of the opponents the brothers are sure to deliver and this makes them must-watch stars in the PPV.
2. CM Punk
There is no way that a person can keep CM Punk away from a list like this. Punk gave a stellar performance last night on RAW as he leaped onto Ryback from the top of the ramp. Despite his injury concerns, Punk looks ready for his match against Ryback and with things really heating up between the two, one can expect a great physical match.
This will mostly and quite rightly be the end of the Punk-Heyman saga as I feel we have seen it all. Ryback will have to lose but WWE can make him look strong in his loss. Maybe Axel can feel jealous about Ryback and cost him the match.
As far as Punk is concerned, expect him to continue the good work that he has been delivering match after match. Despite his losses in recent PPVs, Punk has unarguably delivered the best matches of his career against Brock Lesnar and Curtis Axel.
3. Randy Orton
After decimating RVD and the Miz, Orton has clearly gotten into his vicious self again. Triple H and Stephanie are making sure that Orton’s evil side remains active and are feeding the viper new victims every week.
Orton has always been a reliable contender inside the ring. As a heel, he looks far more convincing inside the ring because his actions and gestures suit his heel-ish character far better. With Orton showing that his evil viper instincts haven’t faded away one can expect him to deliver big in his match against Daniel Bryan this week.
4. The Shield
When have the trio not delivered? No matter who they have a match against the Shield have always done justice to their inclusion. Their team chemistry and ability to work as a group has impressed one and all irrespective of whether they are liked or hated.
Though they haven’t been added to the card yet, one can expect them to pose as a strong opposition. After their loss to the 11 member rebel, the Shield will be eyeing revenge on each one of them and Battleground will prove to be the right place to extract the same.
