WWE Battleground - Big Show steals and decimates the main event result

Battleground ended 8 minutes before completing 3 hours. Is that even characteristic of any WWE live show? That too after a 5 minute power outage.

The night ended clearly proving two things, that as long as the Authority exists, Daniel Bryan won’t be enjoying in all that is gold. And second, the Big Show has clearly had enough. That was the climax, the big ending to a pay per view which had its little moments to talk about.

Big Show stole the show but not in terms of excitement but in terms of a final result. The WWE made Big Show steal the main event outcome. I am a bit in the middle with this. It was just after Big Show climbed the second rope that I realized that the show was over even before completing three hours of programming. I was expecting Triple H or Stephanie McMahon to come and do something and then Vince McMahon’s music hitting and then that would have been spectacular. But that’s left for another day.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

As I said, as long as the Authority walks around WWE, Daniel Bryan is far from enjoying a proper title reign. It is only becoming clearer by the day that Vince McMahon has to return as a face. You can only neutralize power by power and nobody can beat the man who created it all. Triple H and Stephanie are nothing when it comes to the genius who turned the tables and made WWE what it became.

Anyway, this was a night which saw Cesaro again showing off his spectacular moves and this time The Great Khali was on his radar and the entire arena lit up to see that happen. Bray Wyatt tried to bring the trademark Exorxist scene to the fore, In a lacklustre match, Bray Wyatt did not flop. He never fails to instill his creepy aura.

And Sister Abigail-his finisher does not seem impactful if anyone does it normally but the weird way in which he executes it makes it have an impact. And also when the crowd went all ‘You Can’t Wrestle’ on Ryback it was cool to see the camera close up on him and Ryback shouting back,”I Don’t care.”

All in all this pay per view was a bit better than Night of champions but it was not that spectacular. The Rhodes versus the Shield stole the show but everyone stood out in that match. But Big Show stole the pay per view and the WWE stole the audience of an exciting finish.
