WWE Battleground might not be momentous just for Dean Ambrose, who makes his first World Heavyweight Championship defense at the PPV. Reports have emerged that the company’s resident Brotherhood of Sparrows might capture gold for the first time as a unit.
According to cagesideseats.com, there is a strong possibility that New Day will come up short in defending the Tag Team Championships against the Wyatts. Both factions are embroiled in a feud but a single clothesline hasn’t been thrown.
The Wyatts made a return to the WWE on the RAW after Money In The Bank(June 20th) and were interrupted by New Day, who ribbed them in typical fashion. This sparked off a feud between the two which will see an important chapter written at Battleground.
Bray Wyatt stayed off TV since April to recover from a calf injury he suffered against Roman Reigns at a WWE Live Event in Milan, Italy. The New Day are about thirteen days away from breaking the record for single longest tag team title reign (331 days – Paul London and Brian Kendrick). Both title runs considered, they are the longest reigning tag team champs, having kept the belts snug around their gyrating waists for 367 days.
The Wyatts’ transcendence into the tidal wave they’ve threatened to become might come at the expense of the New Day, but likely after they break the record set by London and Kendrick.
