SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced the title on the November 8, 2024, episode of SmackDown, and the inaugural tournament began on November 15. The first champion of the title is Chelsea Green who defeated Michin in the final.

The first-ever WWE Women’s title was introduced in 1956, and since then most of the women’s wrestling has revolved around these world titles. Over the years, the female division of the WWE has witnessed superstars like Chyna, Lita, and Trish Stratus battle it out in the ring.
