Kagiso Rabada Career
Kagiso Rabada, born on May 25, 1995, is an international cricketer representing South Africa in all formats of the sport. He is a right arm fast bowler. Before making his Test debut in November 2015, he made his limited-overs cricket debut in November 2014. At the age of 22, he made it to the top of both the ICC Test and ODI bowling rankings by January 2018. He became the youngest bowler to pick up 150 wickets in Test cricket in July of 2018.
At Cricket South Africa's (CSA) annual dinner in July 2016, Rabada made history by being the first cricket player to win six honours, including Cricketer of the Year. He was awarded the world's best young player by Wisden in August of 2018. He has taken a hat-trick in all three formats of cricket.
Kagiso Rabada Domestic Career
Rabada made his debut in domestic cricket for Gauteng in the CSA Provincial One-Day Competition against Border in 2013. Kagiso Rabada represented his country in the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. South Africa won the tournament and Rabada was the best bowler of the side with 14 wickets to his name. Following the Under-19 World Cup, Rabada played two games for the Lions franchise in the Sunfoil Series. In 2016, Rabada signed a short term deal to play county cricket for Kent County Cricket Club in England. In 2018, Rabada joined Jozi Stars’ squad in the Mzansi Super League.
Kagiso Rabada IPL Career
Kagiso Rabada was bought by Delhi Daredevils before the 2017 season of the IPL. He played 6 matches in 2017 and took as many wickets. In 2018, he was ruled out of the tournament. In 2019, he returned to the tournament and took 25 wickets in 12 matches with an average of 14.72.
After making his comeback in 2019, he went on to take charge of the Capitals bowling attack, taking 25 wickets in just 12 games.
Rabada advanced to another level in 2020, taking an incredible 30 wickets in 17 matches to secure the 'Purple Cap' and help Delhi reach the finals for the first time in IPL history.
Rabada set an all-time IPL record by going 25 innings without losing a wicket in a game during this amazing streak. Rabada had a dismal season in 2021, taking just 15 wickets at an economy of 8.14 runs per over in as many games. The Capitals released him before the big auction, during which the Punjab Kings bid INR 9.25 crores for his services.
In his first season with PBKS, Rabada had a respectable performance, taking 23 wickets in 13 innings at an economy rate of 8.46 runs per over.
Rabada only participated in six games for Punjab Kings in the 2023 IPL season. In his six games, he claimed seven wickets at a costly economy rate of 10.09 runs per over. In the 2024 IPL, played for the Punjab Kings before dropping out of the league due to an injury.

Rabada’s Test debut came against India in 2015. In 2016, Rabada took his first ten-wicket haul in Test cricket. He took 13 wickets in that match against England. A year later, he took his second ten-wicket haul while playing against Sri Lanka. Rabada climbed to the top of the ICC Test bowler rankings in 2018. The same year, Rabada crossed 900 points in ICC Test bowler rankings. Rabada ended 2018 with 52 Test wickets, the most by any bowler that year.

Kagiso Rabada made his Twenty20 international debut in 2014 against Australia national cricket team. He managed to take one wicket in the two matches that he played in his debut series. In 2015, South Africa hosted New Zealand and Rabada took 5 wickets in two matches. He was selected for the 2016 Twenty20 World Cup. Rabada took five wickets in the three matches that he played in the tournament.
Rabada was included in the South African squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. On November 6, 2021, during the decider match against England, Rabada made history as the team's first bowler to claim a hat-trick in Twenty20 international cricket. Rabada played in his 50th Test match in January 2022 against India in the series' third game. Rabada earned his place on the prestigious honours board on Day 2 of the first test match of the series against England in August 2022 when he claimed his maiden five wicket haul at Lord's. Since his return, he is just the fourth bowler from South Africa to accomplish this milestone, behind Vernon Philander, Makhaya Ntini, and Allan Donald.
In May 2024, he was named in South Africa’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament.
