Jim Ross (real name: James William Ross) is an American professional wrestling commentator who is currently a part of All Elite Wrestling. Besides doing commentary Ross has also served as an analyst and senior advisor for AEW since April 3, 2019.

Widely regarded as the greatest wrestling commentator of all time, Ross is affectionately called Good ol’ Jr in wrestling circles. Ross started out as a wrestling broadcaster in 1974 and was part of NWA and WCW commentary teams prior to joining WWE in 1993.

During his two-decade-long stint in WWE, Ross became the voice of the company and was a fan favorite. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the year 2007.

He left WWE in September 2013 and was the lead announcer for New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s weekly show on AXS TV from 2015 to 2018. Ross resigned from WWE in 2017 and was used sparingly until his departure in March 2019. Ross hosts his own weekly podcast, "Grilling JR". Outside of wrestling, Ross has done play-by-play commentary for boxing and mixed martial arts. He also owns a barbecue sauce and beef jerky brand named J.R.'s Family BBQ.
