Miroslav Petrov Barnyashav aka Miro or Rusev is a Bulgarian-American professional wrestler, who is currently signed to All-Elite Wrestling (AEW). He wrestles in AEW under the ring name Miro. He was born in Plovdiv, PR Bulgaria on 25th of Dec 1985, and he is 37 years old right now. In the mid-2000s, he moved to the U.S. and began training at the Knokx Pro Wrestling Academy. He signed with the WWE in 2010 and was given the ring name Alexander Rusev. He wrestled his first match on an episode of FCW, where he defeated Mike Dalton. WWE rebranded FCW as NXT in 2012 and he made his NXT debut in a battle royal match.

Rusev made his main roster debut in 2014 in Royal Rumble as the sixth entrant. He was also a part of a segment with the Rock. He won his first championship in WWE when he defeated Sheamus to become the first Bulgarian-born United States Champion and lost that championship in WrestleMania 31 to John Cena. He has been a part of many great storylines and has competed with the greatest superstars. Rusev was released from the WWE in April 2020 due to budget cuts and after just three months in Sep 2020, he made his AEW dynamite debut. He won his first championship in AEW on an episode of Dynamite, where he beat Darby Allen to become the AEW TNT champion. He is currently playing a face character on AEW Collision.

Miro’s Parents

Miro's parents are Slavka Barnyasheva and his father's name is unknown. He has no siblings. There is not much public information about Miro's parents, but he has spoken about them in interviews. He has said that his parents were supportive of his decision to become a wrestler, even though they were initially concerned about the potential dangers of the sport. He has also said that his parents are very proud of his accomplishments.

Miro’s Wife

Miro married American professional wrestler Catherine Perry aka Lana after years of dating in 2016. Miro and his wife Lana reside in Nashville, Tennessee. Perry is an American professional wrestler known for his work in WWE from 2013 to 2021. Perry was born in Gainesville, Florida on the 24th of March 1985, and is 38 years old right now. She started her professional career in 2013 when she was signed by the WWE and was sent to NXT under the ring name Lana. The following year, she made her main roster debut and competed in many big matches. She was released from WWE in June 2021 and she made her debut in AEW where she came out to save her husband, Miro, in 2023.

Miro and CJ Perry separated from each other as revealed by Perry to TMZ in March 2024. This news came after the two had been together since more than seven years and through two promotions.
