Wardlow (original name: Michael Austin Wardlow) is an American professional grappler and is supported by the AEW with the in-ring name Wardlow. At present he is the AEW Dynamite title holder. Wardlow was formerly associated with boxing and jujitsu. He is a three-time AEW TNT Champion and won the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match in 2022.

Wardlow's father Michael J Sampson is now a therapist and sports physician. He started his career in 1983 as an alumnus at Gannon University, Pennsylvania and worked there for four years. From 1988 to 1992 he worked at ATSU KCOM, an Osteopathic medical school. Michael J was an assistant professor in sports medicine at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and a team physician at Virginia Tech from 2003-2007. After that, he also served as a ringside physician at WWE from 2009 to 2013, treating all WWE wrestlers and NXT wrestlers for In Ring Injuries and general health. He was also attached to Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine as a PBL facilitator, OMM instructor, turning points attending physician, SCF sim lab facilitator, ortho/sports medicine club advisor, and emergency medicine club advisor. From 2015 to 2019 he worked for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) GA CAMPUS as a clinical education coordinator, associate professor family, and sports medicine expert. He has been a Sr Associate Dean, Chief Academic Officer, and Associate Professor of Sports Medicine at the same institute for over 16 years. Presently he is working part-time as Chair of Primary Care at PCOM and a full-time employee of AEW as a ringside physician.
