The Indian Men’s Doubles pairing of Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy moved into the second round of the Russia Open after beating the Malaysian pairing of Zulfaiz Zulkiffli and Zulhelmi Zulkiffli in straight games 21-11 21-15 in 25 minutes in the first round on Wednesday.
The opening game began on a keen note as both pairs won 4 out of the first 8 points, but once Attri and Reddy took the lead, following that, they continued to chip away with the points, not allowing the Malaysian pair any opening to eventually win the first game 21-11.

The second game began on a slightly more close note but once Attri and Reddy broke the deadlock at the 8-8 mark, it was their game all the way as they grabbed the opportunity with both hands to seal the game 21-15 and progress through to the second round.
