Aaron James Judge is an American professional baseball player. He is also the 16th and the current captain of the New York Yankees. Aaron is not only the Yankees captain but also a great slugger. He plays the position of an outfielder for the Yankees. He started his MLB career in 2016 with the Yankees and has been with the same team since. Hailing from Linden, California, United States, he has become a six-time MLB All-Star player as of 2024.

Aaron Judge is also notable for being a three-time Silver Slugger Award winner in 2017, 2021 and 2022. Moreover, he won the AL Hank Aaron Award in 2022 and the Roberto Clemente Award in 2023. Before starting his MLB career, Aaron Judge played high school baseball at Linden High School, in Linden, California, United States. Then he played college baseball for the Fresno State Bulldogs at California State University, Fresno from 2011-2013. Aaron Judge signs a ball for a young fan and moves him to tears

Derek Rodriguez, a nine-year-old fan of Aaron Judge was handed a home run ball by a Toronto Blue Jay fan in a 2022 match between the Yankees and Blue Jays. This caused the young Derek to be moved to tears as this ball was a home run hit by his favorite player, Aaron Judge. The young Yankees fan hugged the Blue Jays fan, Mike Lanzillotta, who handed him the ball while still crying.

When Aaron Judge saw this, he decided to do something for the young fan. He asked Derek Rodriguez who his favorite player was and on hearing his name, he took a pen and signed on the ball for the fan. Moreover, he also provided him with a brand-new set of batting gloves as per espn.in. He also provided his own batting gloves to Mike Lanzillotta, the Toronto Blue Jays fan, who provided Derek Rodriguez with the ball.

Aaron Judge’s record-breaking home run in 2022

Aaron Judge has made history in the 2022 MLB season. On September 28, 2022, Aaron hit his 61st home run against a Toronto Blue Jays match. As a result, he eventually tied Roger Maris for the record of most home runs in a single season.

Then on October 4, 2022, Aaron hit a home run off of Jesús Tinoco in a Yankees vs Texas Rangers match. It was his 62nd home run of the season. This home run broke the previous record set by Roger Maris in 1961. A lot of fans consider Aaron to be the one who truly broke Roger’s record, as the players before were involved, or their names had come up in the PED usage. The players who broke the record before Aaron are Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and Mark McGwire.

Aaron Judge’s contract with the Yankees

After becoming a free agent, Aaron Judge signed a deal with the New York Yankees on December 30, 2022. The contract is worth $360 million and the deal has a duration of nine years. Aaron’s average salary is around $40 million. This deal broke the largest free agent deal record in MLB history. Aaron was offered $400 million by the San Francisco Giants. However, he chose the Yankees instead.
