Juan Soto is a professional baseball outfielder for the New York Mets, as of January 2025. He started his MLB career with the Washington Nationals in 2018 after the team signed him as an international free agent in July 2015. Soto stayed with the team from 2018 to 2022 and won his first MLB World Series title in 2019. In 2022, he joined the San Diego Padres and stayed with the team for the 2023 season before joining the New York Yankees in 2024. After the 2024 MLB season, Juan signed a 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets, the biggest contract in professional sports history at the time of signing.
Soto has been a four-time MLB All-Star and also earned other accolades such as the All-MLB First Team (thrice) and Silver Slugger Awards (5 times), as of January 2025. He was also the NL batting champion in 2020. In 2024, Soto played his second MLB World Series game as a member of the New York Yankees.
