Juan Soto is a professional baseball player from the Dominican Republic, playing for the New York Mets. He was born on October 25, 1998, in Santo Domingo and made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut at 19 on May 20, 2018, for the Washington Nationals. Signing with the Nationals as an international free agent in July 2015 came with a $1.5 million bonus. His journey began in 2016 when he debuted professionally with the Gulf Coast League Nationals at rookie level.

Following his MLB debut in May 2018, Juan Soto established himself as one of baseball's most promising talents. He was crucial in leading the Nationals to their first World Series championship in 2019, earning him the Babe Ruth Award. In 2022, Juan Soto was traded to the San Diego Padres and played for the team until 2023. On December 6, 2023, Soto was traded from the Padres to the New York Yankees, and on December 11, 2024, he signed a 15-year contract with the New York Mets, joining the team in 2025. He has been honored with five Silver Slugger Awards and selected as an All-Star four times, as of the 2024 MLB season.
