Juan Soto is a professional baseball player for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). Hailing from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, he made his MLB debut on May 20, 2018, for the Washington Nationals. Soto signed with the Nationals as an international free agent and, after his debut, became the youngest player in the major leagues at 19 years, 207 days, and the first player born in 1998 to appear in a major league game. With the Nationals, Soto won the World Series championship in 2019, defeating the Houston Astros. He was traded to the San Diego Padres in 2022, where he played through 2023. Soto then joined the New York Yankees for the 2024 season before signing a 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets on December 11, 2024.

Juan Soto has been an MLB All-Star consecutively from 2021 to 2024 and has earned five consecutive Silver Slugger Awards from 2020 to 2024.
