The 32-year-old was born in Nashville, Tennessee, USA on October 7, 1992, and is playing as a shortstop for the MLB side Los Angeles Dodgers as of September 2024. The former Boston Red Sox player is a Gold Glove Award and Silver Slugger Award winner six times each. Betts, the eight-time All-Star, has won two World Series championships. He earned the accolade of American League's Most Valuable Player in 2018 and is placed second in the list of Wins Above Replacement among the active position players.
He was initially drafted by the Red Sox in 2011 and debuted three years later in 2014 as a second base and the outfield.
