Alex Bregman is another highly sought-after free agent this winter, with teams eager to sign him. Having played for the Houston Astros since 2016 and playing a key role in winning two World Series titles for the franchise, the third baseman is likely to attract interest from multiple big-market teams once Juan Soto's free agency is settled.

In Tuesday's episode of "MLB Tonight," Greg Amsinger and Yonder Alonso debated the best potential landing spots for Bregman. While Amsinger finds the Minnesota Twins to be the best fit, Alonso made a case for the Toronto Blue Jays.

"Toronto Blue Jays haven’t had a second baseman in some time," Alonso said. "Alex Bregman fits that role perfectly. With Bo Bichette and Vlad Guerrero, are you kidding me? Put Bregman at second base, let’s go to work, and see how many home runs this guy can hit."
"Give me that guy in Toronto — same weather, with that lineup. I like it," the analyst added.

Greg Amsinger also made a point that the Minnesota Twins would be a great fit for Bregman. He said the Astros' third baseman would reunite with former teammate Carlos Correa on the Twins. Additionally, with Bregman playing second base, the team would have bright prospects.

"If we’re going to put Bregman at second base, the Minnesota Twins need to make a move," Amsinger said. "This team is in win-now mode. You don’t spend that much money on Carlos Correa without backing it up. Royce Lewis, to me, is going to play third base—you just have to keep him on the field.
"When he plays, he’s a superstar. So Royce Lewis has to play third; he’s not playing center. I think Alex Bregman is a perfect fit for them."

At the moment, the teams that have reportedly shown interest in acquiring Bregman are the Astros and the Twins. However, once Soto decides on where he's headed next, teams missing out on him will likely turn to Bregman as the next-best free agent on the market. This could raise the stakes for the third baseman, who is eyeing a contract in the range of $200 million.
