Gerrit Cole and his wife Amy have been enjoying the offseason. Despite the buzz surrounding the New York Yankees and how they would cope with the loss of Juan Soto to the Mets, the couple has been spotted spending precious time traveling together.
In an update on Instagram, Amy shared a video compilation of her husband when they spent time with retired US women's soccer star Alex Morgan and her husband, former footballer Servando Carrasco. They were joined by former NFL linebacker Kyle Bosworth and his wife Kara.
"best trip" - Amy Cole
The trio of couples went on a trip and enjoyed themselves by doing a variety of activities. They shared videos of jumping into the ocean from a yacht, golfing, boating and whale watching.
To the unaffiliated, the Cole-Morgan dynamic might be strange given that they have very little commonalities with each other. However, Morgan has previously proclaimed her support for the New York Yankees ace.
"To confirm I’m a Gerrit Cole fan, not a Yankees fan" - @ Alex Morgan
Gerrit Cole's wife Amy hails from a baseball family
Unbeknownst to many, Cole's wife Amy comes from a well-known baseball family. Amy, whose maiden surname was Crawford, is the sister of former San Francisco Giants great Brandon Crawford.
"From t-ball and backyard games to chasing big-league dreams, it’s been an honor to watch you play the game you love. Proud of you, @therealbcraw35- congrats on an incredible career!" - Amy on Instagram
Moreover, Amy, along with sister Jenna Crawford, starred for the UCLA Bruins softball team. That's how Amy met future New York Yankees ace and husband Gerrit Cole, as Cole played for the school's baseball team during the same time period.
After a fruitful relationship, the couple tied the knot in 2016 and have two children, Caden Gerrit Cole, born in June 2020, and Everett, born in January 2023.
It will be interesting to see if both of Cole's sons try their hand at baseball. After all, with a Cy Young Award-winning father, a former softball player mother, and a two-time World Series-winning uncle, the future looks bright for both.
