Big leaguer Alex Bregman and family enjoyed some fun times during the Christmas holidays. Alex and wife Reagan have been making the most of the offseason before the baseball season gets back into action.
The Bregman family can be seen enjoying some quality time together at home with their son, Knox, running around the backyard.
Here’s a sneak peek of the touching moment posted by Reagan on her Instagram stories:
The Bregmans also enjoyed a fun moment at a local fair:
Reagan also got in on the action, showing off a wild ride on one of the carnival games.
The fun moments will be etched in the Bregman family’s memories forever. There will surely be more memories to come before Alex Bregman hits the field in the spring in 2025.
Alex Bregman could top $200 million in free agency
The dawn of 2025 is nearing and Alex Bregman remains a free agent. While there is no rush to sign a deal at this point, it is mildly surprising to see Bregman still available.
Perhaps Bregman is biding his time, waiting for the Houston Astros to make the right offer to keep him and his family in Houston for the foreseeable future.
However, reports indicate that the Astros are unwilling at this point to meet Alex Bregman’s asking price. If that’s indeed the case, it leaves Bregman to ponder other possibilities.
According to a piece in Newsweek run on December 24, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox could be locked in a bidding war for Alex Bregman. Specifically, that bidding war could top Bregman’s next deal over the $200 million mark.
The Yankees, for one, were willing to back up the Brinks truck to sign Juan Soto. Soto opted for the New York Mets, leaving the Yanks with cash to spend. Also, the Red Sox could be compelled to sign Bregman in order to keep up with the Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays in the AL East arms race.
But the Yankees and Red Sox are not the only frontrunners for Bregman’s services. According to MLB’s Mark Feinsand, the Detroit Tigers could be the team to push Bregman’s contract over $200 million.
During an appearance on MLB Network published on December 23, Mark Feinsand opened the door to speculation regarding the Tigers’ involvement. The Tigers could essentially outbid everyone in hopes of landing the 31-year-old slugging Gold Glover.
With about six weeks to go before camps begin to open, anything can happen. The Astros could swoop in at the last minute to re-sign Bregman. But as it stands, it seems that the Yanks, Sox, or Tigers could make Bregman the recipient of baseball’s next $200 million contract.
