The Seattle Mariners are notable for being one of the expansion teams in Major League Baseball (MLB). The team was formed in 1977 following the departure of the Seattle Pilots to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States and becoming the Milwaukee Brewers. The Seattle Mariners started their season in 1977 as representatives of the West Division of the American League. Unlike most of their fellow competitors in the league, this team is yet to win the World Series or the American League (AL) Championship. That being said, they have won the West Division titles thrice since their inception.
The Seattle Mariners have produced talented players throughout 48 years of their existence from 1977 to 2024. These include the likes of Kyle Seager, Ichiro Suzuki, Ken Griffey Jr., Adrian Beltre, and Edgar Martinez among others. The team is also notable for having rivalries with the San Diego Padres, the Los Angeles Angels, and the Houston Astros. They have been using the T-Mobile Park as their home ground since 1999.
