Farsad later enrolled at Eastern Washington University. However, he along with Yu’s mother relocated to Japan in 1982. Interestingly, Farsad opened the Darvish Gallery in Japan as an attempt to pay tribute to his Israeli heritage. The Osaka-based gallery features a variety of Persian artwork on exhibit.

Yu gets a lot of inspiration to pursue a career in sports from his father, a standout player in high school. In addition to running a travel agency, Farsad sent his kid to Berkshire School, where he was an active soccer and motocross player.
