According to a Marca article posted on August 2, 2023, Ja Morant has inked a massive tattoo on his back, with two elements dedicated as tributes to late basketball legend Kobe Bryant. According to the article, Andres Ortega and his team worked for ten hours to complete the tattoo. The artist and his team, originally from Arizona, traveled to Miami for the artwork.

The remaining artwork, which captures the player's basketball journey, features the logo of his high school, college, and NBA team, along with his jersey number 12 in Grizzlies. Additionally, it includes the phrase "Life is a gamble", framed by four aces and two dice, according to the Marca. He also has tattoos on his front torso, where he inked his birth year which is 1999, doves, crosses, a 100 emoji, and an eye in the middle of his chest.
