Banks was a four-star recruit from the 2022 class, ranked as the No. 78th player by ESPN, the No. 84th player by 247Sports, and the No. 131st player by Rivals. He received scholarship offers from some of the top programs in the nation before committing to Indiana, including Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, Mississippi State, Xavier, and Georgia Tech. Banks entered the transfer portal in March of 2024 and committed to the Tulane Green Wave to continue his collegiate basketball career.
