Brent Venables is the head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners football team. Joining the Sooners in 1999, he quickly emerged as a pivotal force, serving as co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach under the mentorship of head coach Bob Stoops. Venables' tenure was marked by his instrumental role in shaping a formidable defense that contributed to the team's successes.

In 2004, he ascended to the position of sole defensive coordinator and associate head coach, cementing his influence on the program.
