The IPL's Most Valuable Player (MVP) award was introduced in 2008 as the "Man of the Tournament" and was renamed in 2013. It is given to the player with the most fantasy points in a season. Points are awarded for boundaries, sixes, wickets, dot balls, catches, run-outs, and stumpings.

In the IPL, the MVP is determined by a points system. A four earns 2.5 points, while a six and a wicket are worth 3.5 points each. A dot ball gives 1 point, and both catches and stumpings provide 2.5 points each. The award is called the My11Circle Most Valuable Player due to sponsorship reasons, as of March 2025.

Sunil Narine was the Most Valuable Player in the IPL 2024 season, excelling with both bat and ball. As a batsman, he scored 488 runs in 15 matches, including his maiden IPL century (109), at an average of 34.86 and a strike rate of 180.74. He hit 50 fours and 33 sixes, along with three fifties. As a bowler, he took 17 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 21.65, an economy rate of 6.69, and a strike rate of 19.41. His best bowling figures were 2/22.

Jos Buttler was the MVP in 2022. According to IPL's official website, Sunil Narine led with 450 fantasy points in 15 matches, followed by Virat Kohli with 315.5 points in the 2024 season. The award has often gone to all-rounders like Shane Watson, Andre Russell, and Ben Stokes for their contributions in both batting and bowling.
