The Indian Premier League is where cricket meets corporate houses. Since its inception in 2008, several top corporations have been the proud owners of their franchises. For example, the Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Group owns the Mumbai Indians. Similarly, top movie personalities like Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta have also been involved in the Indian Premier League. Khan holds a majority stake in the Kolkata Knight Riders while Zinta is one of the four co-owners of the Mohali-based Punjab Kings.

Mumbai Indians IPL 2025 owners
The Reliance Group, headed by Indian business tycoon Mukesh Ambani, owns the joint-most successful IPL team. Indiawin Sports Private Limited, a Reliance Industries-owned company, owns and operates Mumbai Indians. Nita Ambani, the wife of Mukesh Ambani, is the co-owner of the franchise. Aakash Ambani, the eldest son of Nita and Mukesh, is the other co-owner of the five-time IPL champions. Nita and Aakash have always been active in the operations and other functions of the team. Chennai Super Kings IPL 2025 owners
Chennai Super Kings is owned by India Cements Limited via the Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited holding company. The Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited was formed in December 2014 and gained the team rights from its parent company, India Cements. It is registered as a non-governmental company. Former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president N Srinivasan, who is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director at India Cements, is the key decision-maker in the franchise. Kolkata Knight Riders IPL 2025 owners
The ownership of KKR is divided between two groups, with renowned Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan-owned Red Chillies Entertainment having 55% stakes in the franchise. The Mehta Group, headed by Jay Mehta and Juhi Chawla, enjoys the remaining 45% ownership. The Rajasthan Royals have seen several changes in their leadership over the years. Manoj Badale's Emerging Media IPL Ltd. holds the majority stake in the franchise (65%). RedBird Capital Partners, which is based in New York City, New York, enjoys 15% ownership of the Jaipur-based franchise. Garry Cardinale is the founder of RedBird Capital Partners and also the face of the group when it comes to representing the Royals. Lachlan Murdoch of Fox Corporation also has an undisclosed share in the Rajasthan Royals.
Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL 2025 owners
The Sun Group, led by Kalanithi Maran, owns the Hyderabad-based franchise. Kavya Maran, who is the daughter of Kalanithi, is the Chief Executive and co-owner of the franchise. Kavya has been overseeing the operations of the franchise since 2020. She calls the shots at the auction table and is omnipresent in the stadium whenever the Sunrisers Hyderabad are in action. Gujarat Titans IPL 2025 owners
Gujarat Titans is one of the two franchises that entered the fray in IPL 2022 as part of the Board of Control for Cricket in India's desire to add two more teams to the lucrative league, making it a 10-team tournament. CVC Capital Partners, a British private equity and investment advisory firm, purchased the franchise for a whopping bid of INR 5625 crore in October 2021. However, earlier this year, CVC Capital Partners sold a 67 percent stake in the franchise to the Ahmedabad-based Torrent Group for INR 5035 crore. The BCCI gave its approval to the transfer of control from CVC Capital Partners to the multinational conglomerate that largely deals in the pharmaceuticals and energy sector ahead of the 18th season of the Indian Premier League. Royal Challengers Bengaluru is owned by United Spirits Limited (USL), a subsidiary of the Diageo Group company. Prathmesh Mishra took over the role of RCB chairman from Anand Kripalu in July 2021. The Delhi Capitals is jointly owned by the GMR Group (Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao) and the JSW Group (Jindal South West). Both parties have equal shares in the Delhi-based franchise. Parth Jindal, the director of JSW Sports, is the chairman of Delhi Capitals. He looks after the auction process not only in IPL but also for the sister franchises of Delhi Capitals in the Women's Premier League and overseas T20 leagues.
