Shimron Hetmyer is a West Indian middle-order batter who plays for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is a big-hitting southpaw who made his IPL debut for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Royal Challengers Bengaluru) against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2019. Prior to the IPL 2025 retention deadline, Hetmyer was retained by the Royals for IPL 2025, according to the official website of the IPL.

Shimron Hetmyer played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Royal Challengers Bengaluru) in IPL 2019. The Delhi Capitals (DC) acquired him in the IPL 2020 season. He played there for two seasons before the Rajasthan Royals signed him in the IPL 2022 mega auction. According to the official website of the IPL, Hetmyer will continue to don the blue and pink jersey of the Royals in the upcoming edition of IPL in 2025. He is the only overseas player to be retained amongst the six retentions of the Royals.

In the very next edition, Hetmyer moved to Delhi Capitals for INR 7.75 crore and played in IPL 2021 for the same price. He was released ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction and the Rajasthan Royals grabbed him for INR 8.50 crore. Hetmyer was retained for the same price across three seasons before the Royals decided to retain him for INR 11 ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
