What is the lore behind Operation Black Tabby Bundle in Fortnite?

The Operation Black Tabby Bundle is a collection of cosmetic items centered around the Panther skin, a significant character in the Fortnite lore. Panther is affiliated with the Imagined Order, an inter-dimensional organization that maintains balance and control within The Omniverse. As an IO agent, her mission was to infiltrate The Seven, a group of mysterious and powerful characters, working to oppose the IO. Panther’s operation was codenamed Black Tabby, which inspired the name of the Bundle.

The Panther appeared as an NPC during Chapter 3 Season 3 at the Central GAS Station landmark. Upon interacting with her, she would say “I guess Operation Black Tabby is over…”, confirming that her mission has concluded and also indicating that she no longer works with the Imagined Order. She also appeared in the next season at the same Landmark. When a player interacted with her while wearing one of The Seven Outfits, she would say “We've been over this. I LOVE the Seven. Remember, the helmet?”, confirming she is at peace with The Seven.
