Rangers FC right-back James Tavernier topped the Europa League top scorers chart for the 2021-22 season. The 30-year-old was impressive and clinical in front of the goal as he managed to score 7 goals from 14 appearances. Tavernier was also able to assist two goals for his team during a great run in the competition last season. Leading from the front as the captain of the Scottish club, Tavernier and his team reached the finals of the Europa League. However, Rangers was unable to win the title as they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt in penalties.
Former SC Braga player Galeno ended up 2nd in the Europa League top scorer chart for the 2021-22 season. The Brazilian winger moved to FC Porto during the January transfer window and played 4 Europa League games for the Portuguese side too. However, his 6 goals comes from his stint with SC Braga as he managed to score those during group stage. Galeno was impressive in the left flank as he finished off the chances that were given to him by his side. Braga went on to reach the quarter finals of the competition after Galeno left the club for Porto during winter transfer. Porto on the other hand, wasn't able to reach the quarter finals as they were knocked out by Lyon in the round of 16 tie.
The next player on the list of Europa League top scorers 2021-22 is Olympique Lyonnais winger Karl Toko Ekambi. The Cameroon international managed to find the net 6 times during the Europa League competition 2021-22. Toko Ekambi made 10 appearances for the French club and apart from his goal scoring skills he also managed to contribute 2 assists for his side. All of Ekambi's goal came during the group stages of the competition and it certainly helped Lyon to qualify for the knockout phase. However, during the knockout phase Ekambi failed to find the net and thus Lyon's run in the competition came to an end in the quarter finals.
