Valero Texas Open History
The Valero Texas Open began more than a century ago in 1922 as the Texas Open. Then it was held at Brackenridge Park Golf Course. Since then, the event's name, schedule, and course have changed several times, although it has always been hosted in the San Antonio area.
The Texas Open is also the third-oldest PGA Tour tournament and the sixth-oldest overall. In 2002, the Valero Foundation became the event's title sponsor and has been the annual leader in charitable fundraising for PGA Tour tournaments. In 2010, the event was moved to the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio.

Valero Texas Open 2025 Course
The Valero Texas Open 2025 will be held at TPC San Antonio's Oaks Course in San Antonio, Texas, United States.
The TPC San Antonio is a private resort and one of the courses managed by the PGA Tour's TPC Network. It was established in 2010 and has since been the venue for the Valero Texas Open. It features two golf courses of 18 holes each, the Canyons Course and the Oaks Course. The former was designed by Pete Dye and the latter by Greg Norman, in collaboration with Sergio Garcia.
Only club members and their visitors, as well as visitors staying at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa, are permitted entrance. Further, the resort also offers golf courses, a golf teaching academy, and a 23-acre practice facility (via the Valero Texas Open website).
