About Valspar Championship 2025

The Valspar Championship 2025 is scheduled to take place from March 20 to 23 at the Copperhead Course of the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida, in the United States. It is a 71-par stroke play event traditionally played with a field of 144 golfers until 2024. According to the PGA Tour, the field list was extended to 156 players to include as many fully exempt Tour members as possible in 2024. It was later revised to 155 players and was set at 154 after the withdrawal of Garrick Higgo.
The 2025 event has a field of 151 players with 9 alternates (via valsparchampionship.com). It has a purse of $8.7 million, with the winner receiving $1.56 million and 500 FedEx Cup points (via the official website of the PGA Tour).
Valspar Championship history
When it first began in 2000, the Valspar Championship was originally called the Tampa Bay Classic. Because it is an alternate event, its starting date has been shifted a few times on the annual schedule. Furthermore, its sponsors, including Chrysler and PODS, have changed several times.
The Valspar Corporation became the title sponsor in late 2013. Since then, their sponsorship agreement with the PGA Tour has been extended. The corporation's announcement in February 2025 stated that it would continue to be the title sponsor until 2030 (via the official website of the PGA Tour).
