This marked the third win of the season for Patty Tavatanakit, who had earlier won the Ladies European Tour's Aramco Saudi Ladies International and the LPGA Tour's Honda LPGA Thailand. For Jake Knapp, it was the second victory of the year after he won the PGA Tour's Mexico Open at Vidanta back in February.

Coincidentally, Tavatanakit's LPGA Tour win and Knapp's PGA Tour win came on the same day, February 25. Additionally, both are graduates of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); Tavatanakit is from the class of 2019, while Knapp is from the class of 2015.

After winning the Grant Thornton Invitational, Jake Knapp had words of praise for his teammate. This is part of what he had to say (via LPGA):

"I feel like I couldn't have got a better partner and I feel like we just got along perfectly, the energy was the same and it was a really really fun week...being able to build a friendship, especially in this sport, it's such a small, community everybody kind of knows one another and to be able to kind of build another close friend is pretty sweet."

Patty Tavatanakit, meanwhile, said Knapp was crucial to her ability to play her best golf in this tournament:

"I feel like Jake was like the biggest help...I was so stressed out like I was literally like push cutting my drives and I was like 'I don't want to put Jake in a bad spot' so he really helped me on the first day, just like free it up."

Jake Knapp is finishing his rookie season on the PGA Tour. Tavatanakit, meanwhile, has been playing on the LPGA Tour since 2020, and has secured two victories, including a major championship.
