Team Langer's performance in the final round of the PNC Championship included an eagle and 13 birdies (15 under for the round). They then needed just one playoff hole to defeat Team Woods and win the title.
Following his victory, Bernhard Langer had this to say (via ASAP Sports):
"Obviously you want to win but you have so much fun just whether you win or not. You could finish 10th and have a great time just because what the tournament's all about, family and friends; and this time of the year, and it's a great venue and great sponsor and everything."
He added:
"Having my other son, Stefan, caddie for him, and my son-in-law, Chase, caddying for me, and then have my wife here and my daughter, Jackie was here. It's truly a family affair, and that's what makes this event even more special."
This is Bernhard Langer's sixth win at the PNC event. He won in 2005 and 2006 with his son Stefan, and then in 2014, 2019, 2023 and 2024 with his son Jason, who became the first four-time amateur winner.
Bernhard Langer is now the all-time winningest player at the PNC Championship, surpassing Raymond Floyd (5).
Another record for Team Langer (tied with Team Woods) is the score they achieved (28 under). They surpassed Team Daly's 27 under when they won the 2022 edition.
This is the second time Team Woods has finished second in the event. The previous time was in 2022, when they finished two shots behind Team Daly.
Two aces were recorded during the second round. The first came from Charlie Woods on the fourth hole and the second from Paddy Harrington on the eighth.
