The World's No. 1 golfer, Nelly Korda, is the most well-known female golfer in the world. She is also the most-followed female pro golfer on Instagram, with around one million followers. So Korda posts regularly and keeps her fans updated.

Recently, the 26-year-old golfer shared a younger picture of herself with her elder sister. Golf.com shared a post with younger images of prominent golfers on their Instagram account with the caption, 'Back in the Day.'

Nelly Korda reshared the post on her Instagram story of her younger self with her sister, Jessica Korda. Nelly had her braces on the teeth in the image, and the two sisters are in a golfing outfit, as the picture is from a golf course.

How did Jessica and Nelly Korda get into golf?

Jessica and Nelly Korda come from an athletics' family. Their parents were professional tennis players. Their father Petr was a Grand Slam champion, while their mother, Regina, reached the top 30 in women's tennis.

Therefore, coming from a professional tennis family, the Korda sisters revealed how they got into golf.

"When Dad retired from tennis, he played (golf)," Nelly said to Golf Digest.

The Korda sisters were in the Czech Republic, and they trained with a coach named Jonathan Yarwood. Petr used to be with Michael Campbell, a pro golfer.

"That was when he was with Michael Campbell, right before Campbell won the U.S. Open [2005]. So my dad was on the range with Cambo and JY, and he got this behind-the-scenes look at how professional golfers work, and he really enjoyed the process of it. I got into a golf group and loved the competition and games. Then Nelly came along and got into it, too," Jessica said.

Jessica turned pro in 2010 and joined the LPGA Tour in 2011, while Nelly turned pro in 2016 and is currently the top-ranked female golfer on the LPGA Tour.

The Korda sisters have represented the United States in the Olympics, with Nelly winning the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Jessica is currently taking a break from pro golf as she became a mother earlier this year.

Nelly, on the other hand, is at the peak of her career as she registered six wins in the first five months of the 2024 LPGA Tour season. The 26-year-old was looking all set to get closer to Mickey Wright's record of 13 wins in a season. However, she lost a bit of momentum mid-season as she missed three cuts in a row, but regained her confidence and is looking to register her seventh win of the season.
