The 2024 Amgen Irish Open has recently completed its second round. Many golfers have performed admirably so far. With the cut now set, the top 68 players will advance to the weekend rounds. Unfortunately, a significant number of golfers have been eliminated.

The cut was set at two over par, meaning any golfer with a higher score will not continue in the tournament. Here are five notable players who have unfortunately been eliminated:

Romain Langasque, who withdrew from the 2024 Open Championship, has had a relatively strong season. Langasque shot two rounds of 73, finishing four over par and missing the cut.

Ryan Fox, who has had a successful season on the PGA Tour with notable finishes at The Open, Canadian Open, Myrtle Beach Classic, and Masters Tournament, was unable to maintain his momentum at the Irish Open. Fox shot rounds of 73 and 72, totaling three over par, which was one stroke too high to advance to the weekend rounds.

Ryo Hisatsune, a rising star in the golf world, has participated in three of the four major tournaments this year, including a notable finish of tied for 18th at the PGA Championship. However, he did not have a great weekend. Despite a solid recovery from a three-over first round, Hisatsune's overall performance at the Irish Open was insufficient to advance to the weekend rounds.

Alfredo Garcia-Heredia was in really good form coming into the tournament. He had several good finishes this season, including a second-place finish in a playoff at the recent Omega European Masters. At the Irish Open, however, he shot 78 in both rounds, finishing 14 over and missing the cut by a disappointingly wide margin.
