The second round of the 2024 Women's Scottish Open concluded on Friday, August 16, with only the players finishing above the cut line of 4-over par qualifying to compete over the weekend. The LPGA Tour event began on August 15 at Dundonald Links in Ayrshire, Scotland.

After 36 holes, Meghan Khang and Minjee Lee share the lead at 8-under par. Both put up impressive performances in the first two rounds and will enter the third round two strokes ahead of Charley Hull, Lydia Ko, and Lauren Coughlin.

While most of the top-ranked golfers made the cut, some, including Maja Stark, finished below the cut line. Here are the top five big names who missed the cut at the 2024 Women's Scottish Open.

Maja Stark had a tough start at the Women's Scottish Open, shooting a 75 in the first round. Her struggles continued in the second round, where she shot a 76. Although she moved up 10 positions on the leaderboard after the second round, she still failed to make the cut.


#2 Stacy Lewis

Stacy Lewis also missed the cut at the Women's Scottish Open. She began with an opening round of 76 but improved in the second round, shooting a 75 and jumping 32 positions on the leaderboard. Despite the improvement, she missed the cut.


#3 Andrea Lee

Andrea Lee started her game with a round of 74 to kick off the event, but she struggled in the second round, shooting a 75. Despite making a four-spot jump on the leaderboard, she missed the cut.

Another big name who missed the cut is Ally Ewing. She shot a 76 in the first round, followed by a 74 in the second round. Although she climbed 42 positions on the leaderboard, she still failed to make the cut.

Linn Grant began the Women's Scottish Open with a round of 74. She had a decent start, but struggled on Friday and shot a 76, slipping three spots on the leaderboard and failing to make the cut.

Grant last played at the Dana Open, where she finished tied for third place. However, after a remarkable performance last month, she struggled this week and couldn't make the cut. This marks the third event in 2024 where she has missed the cut, having also struggled at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational and the U.S. Women's Open.
