#1 Xander Schauffele
Schauffele recently won the 2024 Open Championship, adding a second Major trophy to his accolades. Following his incredible win, the American golfer will take a rest this week and will not tee off at the 3M Open.
Schauffele has played in 18 events this season and made the cut in all of them. He currently ranks second in the FedEx Cup standings and is eligible to compete in the season-ending playoffs.
#2 Scottie Scheffler
Another big name missing from the 3M Open field is Scottie Scheffler. The 2024 Masters winner has claimed victories in six events this season and is leading the FedEx Cup standings with 5,993 points. The current World No. 1 will not tee off this week.
#3 Rory McIlroy
McIlroy had a rough outing at The Open Championship, as the Northern Irish golfer struggled to make the cut. He narrowly missed the US Open title to Bryson DeChambeau and had a challenging outing at the year's final Major. McIlroy will not play this week.
#4 Viktor Hovland
Hovland was the most unexpected player to miss the cut at The Open Championship last week. He scored +10 after two rounds and returned home from the Major. He has only played in 13 events this season and missed three cuts. Hovland will also miss the 3M Open this week.
#5 Justin Thomas
Thomas struggled with his game last year and narrowly missed securing a spot in the FedEx Cup playoffs. However, he currently ranks number 19 this season and can easily make it to the playoffs.
Thomas played at The Open last week and tied for 31st place. After his decent outing at the Major, he will not return to tee off this week and will miss the 3M Open.
