The Solheim Cup is set to return for another edition in 2024. The event will take place from September 13 to 15 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
The tournament will feature two teams, Europe and the USA, each consisting of 12 players. Some of the top-ranked women golfers, including Nelly Korda and Carlota Ciganda, will compete in this prestigious biennial tournament.

5 big names to watch out for at the 2024 Solheim Cup
#1 Nelly Korda
Nelly Korda has been making headlines on the LPGA Tour this season with her impressive six victories. The World No. 1 has dominated the golf course throughout the year, and it will be exciting to see her compete at the Solheim Cup
The 26-year-old will represent Team USA, having automatically qualified by U.S. Solheim Cup Points. She has participated in the Solheim Cup three times previously and will be making her fourth appearance in 2024, with a record of 7-4-1.
#2 Rose Zhang
Rose Zhang earned her spot on the USA team through the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. She will make her second consecutive appearance at the Solheim Cup. Last year, she recorded a score of 0-2-1.
Zhang has had a strong season on the LPGA Tour, winning the Cognizant Founders Cup and finishing in the top 10 on three occasions.
#3 Lilia Vu
Lilia Vu is another key player to watch out for at the Solheim Cup. She has had a remarkable season in 2024, including a win at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give.
Vu secured her spot on the USA team through Solheim Cup points and will be making her second appearance at the event. Her Solheim Cup record is 1-3-0.
#4 Charley Hull
Charley Hull is an experienced Solheim Cup player who will return for the 2024 event. She will represent the European team, having secured her spot through LET Solheim Cup points.
The English golfer will make her seventh appearance in the tournament, with a record of 12-7-3. Hull was impressive at the 2015 Solheim Cup, where she recorded four points. Although Team USA won the event that year, Hull garnered a lot of attention for her remarkable performance.
In 2024, she has recorded four top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour and four top-5 finishes on the LET.
#5 Carlota Ciganda
Carlota Ciganda was phenomenal with her game at the 2023 Solheim Cup, contributing four points to the European team’s victory. The Spanish golfer will return for her seventh appearance in the event in 2024. Her Solheim Cup record stands at 11-8-4.
Ciganda has had a strong performance this season on both the LPGA and LET tours, with two top-10 finishes on each.
