As the LPGA Tour 2024 season draws to a close, all eyes are on the Race to CME Globe. This is the season-long competition that will determine the qualifiers for the coveted CME Group Tour Championship.

The top 60 plus ties from the Race to CME Globe will qualify for the Tour Championship, a $11 million purse and $2 million winner's share event.

With only six tournaments remaining on the LPGA Tour's regular schedule, the competition at the bottom of the leaderboard to stay out of the Tour Championship is intense. Let's take a look at some of the top players in danger of falling out of the rankings.

There are already some top players who are effectively out of contention for the Tour Championship. They include Cheyenne Knight and Emily Pedersen.

But others are in the thick of the action to secure their places. Let's take a look at five of them:

#1 Gaby Lopez

The Mexican currently sits in the edge of the top 60 of the Race to CME Globe with 531.207 points. That's the result of just two top-10 finishes in 19 LPGA Tour starts in the 2024 season.

Gaby Lopez has made the cut in 16 of the 19 events she has played, but her finishes have been far from the top. Her best finish of the year was T7 at the Kroger Queen City Championship two weeks ago.

#2 Alison Lee

Despite qualifying for the Solheim Cup last September, Alison Lee is on the verge of missing out on the Tour Championship. Lee is currently 55th on the leaderboard with 590.919 points, just 69 points off 60th place.

Lee has four top-10 finishes but has missed five cuts in just 16 starts on the LPGA Tour. Her best finish came starting the season when she tied for third at the FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship.

#3 Angel Yin

Injuries have kept Angel Yin away from her best form for most of the season. This has affected her current ranking of 57th in the Race to CME Globe with 555.709 points.

Yin has missed the cut in six of the 14 events she has played this season. As a result, her three top-10 finishes have not been enough to move her up the leaderboard.

#4 Georgia Hall

The European star, who won the 2018 Women's British Open, is currently ranked 69th in the Race to the CME Globe and is out of the Tour Championship. Georgia Hall has 448.543 points, which puts her about 83 points outside the top 60.

Hall has made the cut in 14 of the 17 tournaments she has played in the 2024 LPGA Tour season. But, she has only one top-10 finish, when she tied for T5 at the Dow Championship with compatriot and friend Charley Hull.

#5 Ashleigh Buhai

The South African currently sits in 67th place on the Race to CME Globe rankings with 483.694 points. Buhai has only finished in the top 10 once this season, when she finished sixth at the Arkansas Championship two weeks ago.
