5 Rookies to watch out for on the Professional Golf Tour of India in 2017

The Kolkatta lad who started playing at the ge of 9 has put together a fine amateur career before turning professional for his first event this week. He was ranked second on the IGU Amateur order of merit in 2015 and as high as world number 47 on the Official World Amateur Golf rankings in 2016.

Viraj built up a reputation of being one of the best junior golfers in the world through his amazing experiences competing around the globe from India, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand to the USA. Viraj was a member of the Indian National Team and has played in the last three Asia Pacific Amateur Championships where the winner gets a spot in The Master's.

He was drafted in to the Texas A&M Men’s golf team in 2015 and went on to play in the Porter’s Cup, a tournament exclusive to the top amateurs of the world, besides a few inter-colegiate events. The experience of playing over in the states will help him in the long run as he seeks to become a top professional in years to come.

He has great size to go with outstanding club head speed so he can send it out there off the tee. He also has nice touch around the greens and is a good putter. He also shows remarakable dedication to the game when he prepares and his commitment and work ethic are outstanding assets he possesses.
